Sprucing up Windmill Gardens
Regular users of the childrens playground in Windmill Gardens will have noticed that theplay equipment has recently been repainted. It now looks much brighter, thanks to twocorporate teams organised by our close neighbours Bounce Back, a charity and socialenterprise focused on the training and employment of ex offenders.
We thank Fran, Dabz and all the Bounce Back team as well as the two volunteer groups fromcity firms Landsec Securities and Aberdeen Standard Asset Management for their support andhard work.
Now we need to improve the rest of the park if we are to retain our Green Flag CommunityAward. We have two evening gardening workshops planned during July in Windmill Gardens:
- Tuesday 3 July, 6-8pmOur FoWG parks group will be joined by Good Gym to tidy upthe flower beds, weed all the paths and the childrens playground and water some very thirsty plants that are struggling during this very hot weather. If you can join us tonight please lookout for Annick and Sheila who will be in the park and can tell you how you can help.
- Thursday 12 July, 6-8pmWe will be pruning, weeding and improving the herb bed and re-planting the threewooden planters.
We want Windmill Gardens to look its best when the Green Flag mystery shoppers visit thepark! If you can come along on either 3 or 12 July please email info@brixtonwindmill.org.uk.
