With exposed wooden beams and a vast central space, the picturesque Brixton Windmill centre can accommodate up to 60 in an attractive setting just metres away from London’s only working windmill.

The centre is the perfect place for classes, workshops, rehearsals, away days and meetings.

Tables and chairs to seat 40 people, along with full use of the catering-grade kitchen, crockery and cutlery, are included in your hire. We can also provide a large screen for a laptop etc.

The Centre is a safe, eco-friendly and sustainable venue with passive ventilation and doors that can open to the fresh air along the length of the building.

The Windmill is a 20 minute walk or bus ride from Brixton tube at the end of the Victoria line. During rush hour there is a train every 100 seconds, making the venue both immediately accessible and at the same time one of the most ‘away from it all’ places in central London.

As the building is a community asset we expect those who hire it to use it in line with the values and objectives of the Friends of Windmill Gardens, as outlined in our terms of hire.

We can provide a number of added extras to your venue hire.  Unlimited tea & coffee is £1.50 per person. You can also add on a private guided tour of the windmill as part of your venue hire for an additional charge of £15 per person. This includes a guidebook and refreshments with home made cake.  We can also arrange a sourdough bread making workshop or a flour milling experience for groups of up to 12 people.  Please enquire for further details.
