Feasibility study update

holmewood school

The feasibility study for the new Brixton Windmill education building is moving along swiftly.

Trish and Ian from Clearview Consulting have talked to a range of FoWG members and volunteers as well as representatives of local schools, particularly the Windmill Cluster of schools. They have also discussed the options with members of the Blenheim Gardens Resident Management Organisation Board and other local partners, including of course Holmewood Stay and Play. Local businesses, particularly bakeries, restaurants and shops and organisations promoting and selling local food, have also been contacted.

All this information is being fed into developing a robust 10-year business plan for the Friends. A viable business plan is essential if Lambeth Council is going to release the money. The input of FoWG members and volunteers is very important.

If you have not already done so, please complete the short online survey to help us understand better local interest in FoWG?s volunteering work, identify potential for growing our membership and explore any opportunities for support future income. Click here to complete the survey before 10 July .

The more local people who respond to the survey, the greater will be our understanding of how we can secure the future of Brixton Windmill and re- establish a lively education programme for both school children and adults at the windmill.
