The Brixton Time Machine

The Brixton Time Machine is a heritage art project exploring the entertainment history of Brixton since 1910.

During the last 100 years of cultural, social and political change, generations of people in Brixton have created, experienced and shared local entertainment with each other. The project explores and records Brixton experiences and memories of the four entertainment themes: cinema, fashion, music and theatre.

The Brixton Time Machine Collection includes digital art prints, audio and video media art created during the project. On Tuesday 17 July, the Collection will be launched at a multi media event at the Assembly Hall, Lambeth Town Hall, Acre Lane London SW2, from 4pm to 8pm.

The event is free and open to the public.
