New guidebook for 200th year

Brixton Windmill guide book

To celebrate Brixton Windmill’s 200th anniversary, the Friends of Windmill Gardens have published a new guidebook.

As well as describing the history of the Ashby family, who operated the mill for all its working life, the guide also explains the machinery visitors can see on each floor of the mill, with a useful glossary.

The most recent restoration in 2010-11 is covered, coming right up to date with the plans for grinding flour at the mill once more.

The new guide costs ?3.50 and will be available at all our open days, starting on Easter Saturday.
