We are excited to have wonderful charity Eat Club here at the windmill on the evening of Thursday 28 July.  Eat Club runs on the principle that no one should eat alone so whether you’re looking to meet new people or simply to sharpen your knife skills in good company, our doors are open. All you need is a healthy contempt for a microwave meal-for-one! Here’s some information from Eat Club on their Windmill event:

Eat Club’s supper clubs celebrate the best seasonal foods while providing professional experience in running a food business to young people. All profits support our community work helping to improve young people’s relationships with food.

Celebrating the best British and European seasonal ingredients, with a Mediterranean style of cooking and eating, July’s fabulous four-course menu is a showpiece of summer time dining with a dusting of windmill inspiration.

Come solo or in a group to create a series of bespoke dishes under the careful supervision of Eat Club’s experienced chef. On arrival you’ll be greeted with an aperitif and canapes to enjoy while learning how to prep our fabulous dinner. Once cooking is done, you and your brigade will enjoy the fruits of your labour and good conversation in the relaxed surroundings of this iconic local landmark. This month’s menu takes inspiration from our fabulous venue and draws on different grains and flours – including the Windmill’s very own! – to consider the history, as well as the sustainable future of food. Meanwhile we’ll be sourcing vegetables from farms around London and working with Brixton producers to bring a local aspect to the dinner.

At Eat Club, we pride ourselves in not only serving food but creating meals and the award winning Brixton Windmill Centre provides the ideal setting for our supper club. The exposed wooden beams and high vaulted ceilings filled with July evening light will nestle Eat Club’s long table, providing the perfect environment to get to know your new found colleagues in an experience that truly feels like dinner with friends.
