History, Mystery & Ministry – A Walk from the Windmill to Windrush Square
If you are interested in local Brixton history across 2000 years join Lambeth Tour Guide Diana on this 1.5 hour walk around approximately 1.5 miles of Brixton.
We will start at Brixton Windmill, walk part of the Roman Road, follow some of the course of the Effra River. We will talk of monarchs, authors, influencers and places of worship. There is even an unsolved murder. Brixton is the centre of Lambeth and Windrush Square its beating heart.
About your guide:
Diana has lived in London for most of her life and Lambeth for 15 years. She has been amazed by Lambeth’s rich history and hidden gems.
Diana would like you to have fun whilst walking with her and be able to take away little nuggets of history, general knowledge and more. Information that you can easily slip into a conversation and wow people!
The guided walk price is £12, or £6 for concessions (under 16s free).
The walk starts from Brixton Windmill at 2.30pm and lasts about 1.5 hours depending on the walking speed of the group and the questions that come up. Please arrive at 2.15pm for a prompt start.
