The opportunity is a remote working role with the ability to travel to Brixton Windmill Centre regularly. Initially hours to be 8 hours per week. This is a freelance contract position with an hourly rate of £20 to £25 depending on experience.
We need a committed and ideally local book keeper to work with us as we expand our offer at Brixton Windmill Centre.
Key responsibilities of the role:
To monitor and process all costs such as utility bills, Direct Debits – retrieving invoices where required and process these within Quickbooks
To effectively liaise across various divisions within the Charity
To monitor credit card/Bank statements and collate receipts as required
To identify and raise Bank queries in a timely fashion
To liaise with Centre Manager and support with Sales invoicing.
To liaise with Centre Manager and chase up overdue invoices.
To manage and post transactions in Quickbooks.
To manage Chart of Accounts in Quickbooks.
To process internal expenses payments as required.
To investigate discrepancies and query accordingly
To create a report pack for Board meetings.
To monitor Zettle/Paypal accounts and post transactions to Quickbooks.
Any other duties as required.
Your skills and experience:
Competency using Quickbooks or similar cloud based finance software
Previous book keeping experience essential
Competency with Microsoft 365 Packages (Excel, Word and PowerPoint)
Must be fluent in the English language
Ability to work on your own initiative
Able to travel to Brixton Windmill Centre regularly
1 year freelance contract initially 8 hours a week with a review after 3 months. We are flexible as to how you work your hours across the week but ideally to be split across the week rather than over 1 day.
You will be responsible for your own tax and national insurance.
Remote working with a requirement to travel to Brixton Windmill Centre once a fortnight.
Hourly rate of £20 to £25 depending on experience.
