Warm Space Wednesdays at the Windmill Centre

Warm Space and Shared Oven
Wednesdays 12 to 3pm 

Thanks to funding from Lambeth Council we’ll be opening up as a warm space and communal oven on Wednesdays from 12 noon to 3pm. Our first session will be this week on Wednesday 25 of January and we’ll run until the end of March when warmer weather will be with us (hopefully). Please help us get the word out – we’ll be offering up a warm welcoming space, hot drinks and use of our oven.

Shared Oven – this is based on the idea of the medieval hearth, where the local community would gather to cook and bake together at a cooperatively run oven. Here at Brixton Windmill Centre we have a large professional oven – we’ll be offering this out on a first come first served basis on Wednesdays. This is open to anyone – home bakers or batch cookers wanting to save on energy at home. On some days we’ll also have a volunteer baker here to offer up tips and advice.
