The Friends of Windmill Gardens is a local residents group, established in 2003 with the aim of restoring and opening the mill and transforming the surrounding park into an area that will be valued by the local community. The Friends organise this programme of open day tours and community events on behalf of Lambeth Council who own Brixton Windmill.
Windmill Gardens hosts Art in the Park with fun art and craft workshops for adults, children and families, offering the opportunity to develop your creativity inspired by the windmill.
Visit Santa in his grotto in the mill. Please donate £4 per child. Enjoy seasonal craft workshops for adults and children, food and drinks vendors, outdoor maker stalls, BW Centre café and shop.
Hunt for Easter surprises and chocolate treats in Windmill Gardens and enjoy arts and crafts activities. Please donate £2 per child.
National Mills Weekend celebrations return to Brixton Windmill. Children will be able to use the hand querns to better understand the milling process. We will release the brake on the sails on Saturday and, depending on the strength of the wind you may see the sails turning.
Our popular Beer and Bread Festival returns to Windmill Gardens for a fifth year. Beers and artisan breads from local breweries and bakeries and great music. See the windmill’s millstones in action.

The Centre is a multifunctional space, designed to accommodate school workshops, visitors, café and shop. It is also available to hire for wedding receptions, celebrations, meetings, birthday parties, away days and community groups.
