Green Flag Award 2017

Windmill Gardening

Great news! Windmill Gardens has retained its Green Flag for the third year running – one of a record-breaking 1,797 UK parks and green spaces.

According to the judge, Windmill Gardens is a "quite incredible and almost unique provision for residents, local communities and the wider audience as a whole."

"The innovative approach to the combination of site and features to the improvement of its surrounding landscape and environment is commendable. The new building will add so much more to the site and will help to fulfil much of the ambition and aspirations of the FoWG in the future."

Jean Kerrigan, Chair of FoWG, said: “We are absolutely delighted to receive a Green Flag Award for the third time. We know how much quality green spaces matter to residents and visitors, and this award celebrates the dedication that goes into maintaining Windmill Gardens to such a high standard."

International Green Flag Award scheme manager Paul Todd said: “We are delighted to be celebrating another record-breaking year for the Green Flag Award scheme.

“Each flag is a celebration of the thousands of staff and volunteers who work tirelessly to maintain the high standards demanded by the Green Flag Award. The success of the scheme, especially in these challenging times, demonstrates just how much parks matter to people.”

Congratulations and huge thanks to our volunteers and Lambeth Parks Officers who do so much to improve the park and its facilities!
