Chiwetel Ejiofor visits Brixton Windmill

Chiwetel Ejiofor, star of 12 Years a Slave, visited Brixton Windmill as part of his promotion for his new film The Boy Who Harnessed the Wind.

The film tells the story of William Kamkwamba, a 13-year-old Malawian boy who teaches himself engineering and manages to build a wind turbine to generate electricity, thus saving his family from starvation. Ejiofor not only stars in the film but was also the screenwriter and director.

As part of his promotion for the movie, Ejiofor was interviewed by Jackal magazine – who decided that Brixton Windmill would be an ideal location for their photo shoot!

The Boy Who Harnessed the Wind premiered at the Sundance Film Festival and will be available on Netflix on 1 March. See the trailer here.
