DESCRIPTION:Harvest Time at Brixton Windmill\nSunday 25 September 1pm to 5pm \nOur free family festival celebrates the annual wheat harvest and the histories and crafts of milling and artisan bread making with craft workshops,  live music, food, and beer from Brixton Brewery. Workshops for children include baking and traditional corn dolly making. Our shop and cafe will be open together with bookable guided tours of the windmill. \nThe day includes:\nLearn about wheat!\nLearn all about the growing, harvesting, and milling of the wheat, grain and flour that makes your favourite bakes such as cakes, biscuits, breads and more! With information and practical displays throughout the afternoon from expert millers, and growers. You can even have a go at milling yourself with our hand querns!\nAdvanced-booked full windmill tours\nRunning every half hour from 1-4:30pm.\n‘Turn up and Go’ shorter windmill tours\nAvailable throughout the afternoon and do not require pre-booking but you may need to queue as they are very popular.\nChildren’s baking workshops (6s to 11s) at 2pm and 3pm \nAt 2pm and 3pm where children will make ‘hedge-hog’ rolls that will be baked on site and can be taken home to enjoy. This activity is FREE but is limited to 8 children per session. There will be sign up sheets at the centre on arrival – please include your child’s name, age, a parent/carer’s name, and any allergies the child or parent/carer has. The sessions will run for approximately 30 minutes and parent/carers must stay with their child during the session.\nLive music\n1pm SELFolk – South East London Folk Orchestra ( http://www.selfolk.co.uk/ )\n3pm – Casino Moon\n4pm – Future Groove ( https://futuregroove2020.wordpress.com/ ) with Helen McDonald\nChildren’s arts and crafts and sewing activities\nAvailable throughout the afternoon 1-5pm hosted by Kids Kreate and London Urban Textile Commons. These activities are FREE and drop in at any time, there is no need to book or sign up in advance.\nCorn dolly making workshops\nThroughout the afternoon 1pm to 4.30pm. The workshops are designed to be accessible to a range of ages but a degree of dexterity is needed for the corn plaiting. This activity is FREE and there is no need to book or sign up in advance.\nFood and Beer\nHot food from Deuce Hospitality\nBaked goods from Old Post Office Bakery\nBeer from Brixton Brewery\nDeli stall from Ashby’s Deli\nShop and cafe\nOpen throughout the afternoon selling uniquely designed Brixton Windmill products and freshly baked homemade cakes made with our very own flour.\n
