Planet Earth report
In 2002, Lambeth Council appointed Planet Earth Ltd., Chartered Landscape Architects, to consult with local residents to produce an agreed vision of an attractive and suitable design for Windmill Gardens with the windmill as a focal point.
The final report has now been published.
Among the suggestions made were:
- restore the windmill to working condition
- improve play facilities for children
- provide sports facilities for older children and young people
- improve lighting and install CCTV
- open a café
- create an education centre with a theatre in education company
- provide facilities for drama and arts activities
- hold a farmers' market
- plant a wildflower or sensory garden
