Spooky stories and ghostly goings-on

Image: Nick Weedon

Ghostly graffiti, a spooky stilt-walker and skeletons and cobwebs all added up to a happening Hallowe'en open day at Brixton Windmill on Sunday.

The procession of children, led by the mean miller on stilts, made its way along the path lined by grinning pumpkins to Brixton Windmill.

After prizes were awarded to the best fancy dress outfits, the children crowded into the mill to listen to the story of the mean miller, complete with sinister sound effects and digital graffiti.

Earlier, while tours of the windmill were going on, special activities for young ones included apple bobbing and making guys.

And everyone got a crocus bulb in a pot to plant and take home with them at the end of the day.

Many thanks to the Brixton Windmill Theatre Group, Simon the stilt walker and Darren of Urban Art Agency for a memorable afternoon!
