Brixton Windmill is now closed to the public for the winter. It will reopen in spring 2012.
We're now busy recruiting and training volunteers to help on the 22 open days next year. Without our volunteers we wouldn't be able to show off the beautifully restored windmill to the public.
If you're interested in helping out in some way, whether by serving teas, minding stalls, baking cakes, or signing people in, we'd love to hear from you. Contact us on info@brixtonwindmill.org.uk.
If you're interested in training as a guide or steward, we're running training sessions in February and March.
So get involved with the local community and help promote part of Brixton's heritage in 2012!
Brixton Windmill is a tangible reminder to all Londoners of the close links that the capital had with agriculture and food production.

Educational visits Take part in our pilot programme of activities this autumn
The Friends of Windmill Gardens is a local residents' group that holds regular events in the park and provides volunteer guides for visits to the windmill.
The Friends of Windmill Gardens were formed in 2003 to raise the profile of Brixton Windmill and campaign for its restoration. Now the mill is working again, we are helping to educate visitors and improve the surrounding park.
